Crowns & Bridges

Crown
Crowns for Single Tooth Replacement
Crowns are designed to protect the teeth and are created to match the color of your tooth enamel. You may need a crown if you have a misshapen tooth, a tooth that is worn down, or have received a root canal. Crowns are also effective for restoring teeth to their natural shape and size.

Crowns are typically placed in two visits, as we first need to prepare the tooth structure and ensure the root of the tooth is healthy enough to support the restoration. We will take dental impressions and fit you with a temporary crown to wear while the permanent crown is fabricated. Once the permanent crown is received from the lab, it is cemented in place.
Dental Bridge for Multiple Teeth Replacement
Dr. Don Kim may recommend a dental bridge if you have a missing tooth between two healthy teeth. A bridge is typically performed in two office visits, as we will first need to prepare the adjacent teeth to support the bridge. A bridge is usually comprised of two or more crowns that are fused together. Once complete, the permanent bridge is cemented in place. We will check your bite to ensure optimal placement and comfort.

Composite Fillings

Metal material fillings replaced with composite
Dr. Don Kim may recommend composite fillings as an alternative to metal materials when you have decayed or damaged teeth. Composite fillings can improve the esthetics of your smile and strengthen the tooth structure. Dr. Don Kim may recommend composite fillings to restore teeth with cavities or those having sustained damage.
Compostie Fillings
Vista Dental offers two alternatives to composite fillings.
The two options we offer are amalgam (silver color) or gold. It is entirely up to you which type of filling you prefer. Dr. Don Kim is happy to discuss the difference and help make the best choice with you.

Extractions
Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the jawbone.
If a tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, Dr. Don Kim may try to fix it with a filling, crown or other treatment. Sometimes there's too much damage for the tooth to be repaired.

It is important to remember that when a tooth is missing from your mouth it is vital to seek out a replacement tooth so you do not have bone loss or other irreversible structural issues from lacking a tooth.

Root Canals
Root canal therapy is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected.

Root canal therapy is performed when the pulp, which is composed of nerves and blood vessels in the tooth, becomes infected or damaged.
During root canal therapy the pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.

People fear root canals because they assume they are painful. Actually, most people report that the procedure itself is no more painful than having a cavity filled.
